The island of Oinousses was chosen by All For Blue for another mission, on September 28, 2022, within the framework of the collaboration that the Greek environmental organization has with Garnier.

A small island but with great importance for our homeland and an even greater maritime tradition, located 2 km northeast of Chios and only 8 km from the Turkish coast.

The warm welcome given to the team by the approximately 70 students and teachers of all levels made us feel at home.

The educational seminar on the protection of the marine ecosystem was held in the event hall of the island’s High School with the participation of 70 children and teachers of the Primary, High School and the EPAL navy school.

The children travelled through the audio-visual material to the magical underwater world, were informed about the behavior of man towards some species of the seabed as well as the effects of pollution by plastic and other waste and learned how we can all contribute to the protection of the oceans and of the seas that give us life.

It was touching that all the children showed special interest and participated with questions and personal testimonies. This was followed by an experiential cleanup and the children, after cleaning the beach, helped to remove waste from the sea by the group’s certified divers.

The goal of the mission was achieved, because many children and teachers asked to continue what they learned, joining the All For Blue network by creating their own local group!

Important note the kind offer to the event  by the vice mayor of Oinousses Ms. Eugenia Chalkias, the teachers and the port authority at the station in Oinousses.

The actions of All For Blue continue.
