Enormous amount of waste removed in Mykonos with the support of Destino Pacha

A total of 5 big bags and 8 sacks full of plastics were collected, mainly cans, bottles, glasses, flippers, shoes, rubber bands, children’s toys and unfortunately too many masks which have climbed to the TOP 10 of coastal waste in Avlemonas beach.

During all our missions to date, we have never before encountered such a large volume of waste! Both their collection and transport to Mykonos Port was very challenging!

We warmly thank the captains who took care of the safe transport of All For Blue team members on this north beach of Mykonos, the people from the Municipality of the island who took part in the beach and underwater cleanup and who took care of the immediate collection of waste. A big thank you to the Port Authority which is always by our side and last but not least, the staff and the leadership of Destino Pacha that supported us in yet another important cleanup.

All waste was, as always, recorded in a global database while the cleaning was done following our Zero Waste protocols, with reusable equipment avoiding disposable plastics.
