We were delighted to accept the invitation from the Special Education High School for the deaf and hard of hearing  of Argyroupoli. So on Thursday, November 2, 2023, it was the second time we were visiting a school for the deaf and hard of hearing, as 6 months before we had visited the Special education primary school of Pefki-Lykovrysi.

Our educational program was interpreted in sign language by a school professor, sending a clear message from the founder of All For Blue, Katerina Topouzoglou, to both students and teachers: “In front of the environment, we are all equal.”

The seminar was attended by 38 focused high school students as well as 11 professors, most of whom had one question saved for the end! As usual most of them were about our favorite sharks.

Afterwards, the All For Blue team was transferred to the beach of B’Alipedo in Alimos where they met the students of the Special Education primary school for the deaf and hard of hearing of Pefki-Lykovrisi to clean the beach together. Our experience was unique as it suddenly started to rain which gave us time to remember what we had learned in the seminar back in April and especially to understand why it is important to remove litter from the coasts. When the sun signed again the children with great joy but also with curiosity poured onto the beach and questioned all the strange objects they collected. The weirdest object award went to a broken pill box!

A big thanks to the two Special education schools and their teachers/professors who trusted us and helped us by providing the valuable interpretation of the sign language program.

Special thanks to Garnier for consistently supporting our efforts to continue the work of environmental awareness among the new generation that includes all!
