Sustainable tourism is about including the local community and encouraging behaviors that are beneficial to sustainability.
The finnish travel agency Aurinkomatkat – Suntours Ltd Ab chose All For Blue’s training program to raise awareness and inform its staff around the world about the threats facing the marine ecosystem. A total of 78 company executives (nearly 80% of the total staff) attended the “Ocean Conservation-Shark Awareness” seminar online during the year and received an official certificate from Padi Aware.
The All For Blue team in Rhodes then worked with local Aurikonmarkat staff and customers in an effort to take action for the environment and restore the beach in front of the Rhodes Aquarium. On Wednesday, September 27, the result of the coastal and underwater cleaning was the removal of 20 kg of waste, mainly single-use plastics. All For Blue volunteers, Aurinkomatkat employees and customers collected litter from the beach, while divers from Waterhopers and Lepia Dive Center carried out the underwater cleanup.
