Giovanni Prete is a communicator, writer, creator, educator and environmental advocate from Corfu island, Greece. He is Greek, Italian and Canadian and currently spends his time between Canada and Greece. He has worked for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in Montréal, Quebec Canada; the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO in Paris, France; the Embassy of Greece in London, United Kingdom; the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) in Athens, Greece; the Canadian charity The Hellenic Initiative Canada in Toronto, Canada and also handled the social media channels of All For Blue Organisation. He holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in English Literature and Film Studies from the University of Leeds, a Master of Arts in History from University College London (UCL) and a Graduate Diploma in Communications Management from McGill University. During his academic years, he taught storytelling to refugees in the Middle East. He has also spent time serving in the Hellenic Armed Forces in Greece. He is the founder and leader of the All For Blue Corfu Team, which organizes beach and underwater cleanups and advocates for the protection of the island’s seas. The team has made a notable difference within the local island community, gaining recognition and support from both media and the public. As the global ambassador, Giovanni has represented All For Blue in various United Nations meetings, including the UN World Oceans Day in New York and the UNEP/MAP COP23 in Slovenia. Finally, Giovanni writes and publishes articles of environmental and humanitarian content in various Greek and international media outlets.

He spends his free time hiking, doing sports, exploring and communicating through photography and film. He loves traveling and he considers it an integral part of his life.
