During our visit in Djibouti, the African country with beautiful coastlines and crystal clear waters, we had the chance to swim with whale sharks, turtles, rays and dolphins. We visited the area with a research boat along with 20 certified divers from around the world (France, Italy, Bulgaria, the Netherlands etc.), exchanged experiences and had the opportunity to once again observe how single-use plastics such as bags and straws are very easily converted into natural food for vulnerable or endangered species underwater.
While in Djibouti, with the diver’s team we have been able to exchange experiences, remove several marine debris during the dives, raise awareness to the local society and donate on the spot our stainless steel straws to the mission members.
